Longarms

We understand recent events may have raised concerns about the safety of prop guns in theatrical productions. We want to reassure you about the safety of our stage-safe blank-fire replicas.

  1. Designed for Stage Use: Our replicas are purpose-built for theatrical productions and are not real firearms. It is impossible for any discharge to come out of the barrels. They are crafted with advanced safety features to ensure a realistic yet secure portrayal on stage.
  2. Proven Safety Record: There has never been a fatality from firing a stage-safe gun. It’s important to note that the tragic incidents reported in the media have all involved the use of real guns as props, not properly designed stage-safe replicas such as ours.
  3. Compliance and Support: We adhere to higher-than-industry regulations and standards, and we are here to address any concerns you might have. Please feel free to reach out for additional information or demonstrations.

G57 – INFANTRY MUSKET –  BLANK-FIRING

Harper's Ferry Musket
Harper's Ferry Musket

These are wood and steel shells that hide an NEF blank-fire starter pistol. Each gun can fire up to 9 shots before needing re-loading. No exterior moving parts and the ramrod cannot be removed. But there is no discharge from the barrel either, so they’re safe and practical for any theatre. You can get away with using these for shows set from the mid 1600’s to the mid 19th century.  A good choice for Cyrano, Three Musketeers, Our Country’s Good, etc. length = 46″, weight – 10 lbs. Originally $800     [for loading instruction video – https://youtu.be/RyWltlfc6rM]   Because the gun is large, I recommend using the louder Winchester blackpowder blanks. A smaller sound might seem incongruous.

22 cal blank-fire        rental – [$ 87.00]               or buy it today for $305

G76 – WARNER RIFLEWARNER RIFLE

A blank-firing version of the earliest rifles of the mid and late 1800’s, or whenever you need a generic blank-firing civilian rifle. Originally $780, they safely fire from NEF starter pistols that are inside the replica – nine shots before reloading. Excellent for Carmen, Tosca, Les Mis, etc., although they still look nondescript enough to use as modern sporting rifles.  47″ long;   22 cal blank-fire    [for loading instruction video – https://youtu.be/RyWltlfc6rM]

rental – [$ 79.70]            or buy it today for $251

K25 – CARBINE W/ SCOPE

That isn’t a real scope, and it is very delicately held on, so please be gentle. Again, an NEF starter pistol inside the replica for the sound and fury – nine shots before reloading.   37″ long;   22 cal blank-fire.    Originally $800     [for loading instruction video – https://youtu.be/RyWltlfc6rM]

rental – [$ 80.00]           or buy it today for $222

K07GENERIC CARBINEparade 003

I built these very simple rifle replicas so they would be light, sturdy, easy to handle, and easy to repair. No moving parts whatsoever. (Normal parade rifles commercially available have rudimentary bolt actions that don’t stay in place when twirling the gun.) Nothing special here, but the stock is real wood and the barrel is light steel. A drop-able prop. (Oh, they’ll still break, but repairs are so easy. If you can glue wood, you can repair this prop.) Only 4 lbs., and 40″ long.

to rent – [$ 15.00]         or buy one for $90

K11 – GENERIC RIFLE

Same as above, but a little longer.  5 lbs., and 47″ long.   Only one remains. Currently out on rental – not available again until mid-May.

to rent – [$ 20.00]         or buy it for $96

G64 – SHOTGUN

Non-firing; double barrel, break-open – Once shotguns were invented, they really didn’t evolve much. The basic look is always the same, although there was much variation in butt stocks.

Also known as a side-by-side, this item does “break-open” for pretend breach loading, but it has no external hammers and the triggers do not move.  48″ long.  [originally $450] [Sorry, I only have one left – not available until mid-May at the earliest]

prop, steel frame – to rent – [$ 90.00]            buy it –  $238

COUNTRY SQUIREG67 – COUNTRY SQUIRE

To try and solve the problem of firing a shotgun on stage we built these double-barrel replicas. But they do not break open. Solidly built frame of steel from end to end. No discharge down the barrel, these have NEF 9-shot starter pistols inside, so are safe for any theatre. Originally $940    22 cal blank-fire. [for loading instruction video – https://youtu.be/RyWltlfc6rM]     Because the gun is large, I recommend using the louder Winchester blackpowder blanks. A smaller sound might seem incongruous.
Blank-fire, to rent – [$95/month] or     buy it for  $373

K53 – CZ-24

CZ-24

Historical artifact – a fantastic piece of the past. Used by the Czech army from 1948, tons were also exported to a score of countries. They still surface in large quantities on the black market. Shown with and without the removable shoulder stock. Can be used with a strap. The basic layout was the inspiration for the Israeli Uzi. Length – 28 inches (when butt-stock is attached); weight – 8 lbs.    completely non-firing    I believe I have 16 left.
[original price – $343]

to rent  – [$ 49.00]                   to buy – $129

W50 – CZ-24 PARTS

Want to make your own submachine gun props? When the Iron Curtain came down, we bought a truck-load of automatic weapons from former Soviet Block countries. The receivers were chopped up and destroyed so they could never fire again, but that was perfect for us – we just wanted to create good-looking props! (see the K53 above)
I believe I have five bag-o’-parts of these relics of the cold war. You’ll need to get some steel pipe to fill in the parts that were cut out when they decommissioned them. But if you have basic welding skills and can work out simple jigsaw puzzles, you should do well!  When you’re done, you’ll have a great looking, incredibly sturdy, 28 inch, 8 lb prop.
