Last of the Wide-Bladed Weapons

In the near future, Weapons of Choice will offer only epee-bladed rapiers and dueling swords. Everything else must go, including the used wide-bladed weapons below. These are all Weapons of Choice originals – you can’t find them anywhere else at any price!

330 – HAMPTON (shortsword)

This fight worthy (light-use) blade is 19½ long and the solid brass guard is 4½” across. Total length of 27½, and it weighs 2 lbs, 4 oz.
The handle is wire-wrapped, and the pommel is a brass amalgam. Only one available. [original price – $375]

rental – [$36.50]                        to buy (used): $265

331 – EMPIRE

The curved blade is 29″ long, and is meant for light stage combat (perfect against an epee-bladed sword). The overall length of the sword is 36″. The scabbard is not original to the hilt, but it has the leather frog which make it ready to wear on any sash or belt. Only one available. The weight of the sword is just shy of 2 lbs, and with the scabbard it comes to 3 lbs 5 oz.

rental – [$27.00]                        to buy (used): $104

777 – SCIMITAR

Although there were curved weapons that started from the Indian subcontinent and then gained wide-spread use in the Middle-East and Asia, the exaggerated back-point on the blade shape of what we now call the scimitar is mainly a Victorian-European fantasy. But why quibble over historical accuracy?
This version is fully fight-worthy, and an awful lot of fun. The blade is 30″ long, and the overall length is about 38″. It weighs about 2½ pounds. Wood handle, steel guard, steel pommel. [original price – $265]
