213-S — SPANISH CUP
The quintessential cavalier rapier. Found throughout Europe by the 1600’s, especially popular among soldiers because of the superior hand protection. The Three Musketeers go-to. Steel quillons and aluminum guard.
for sale (new) only : Made to order — unlimited availability
epee or demi-epee blade $ 216
214-S — VERONESE CUP
The shallow dish/cup gives good hand protection, but far lighter than the above Spanish Cup, giving superb point mobility. Steel quillons and aluminum guard.
for sales (new) only : Made to order — unlimited availability
epee or demi-epee blade $ 196
230-S — GOSSAMER SWEPT HILT
Designed for us by Swordcrafters of San Diego. Its graceful curves give it both elegance and strength.
for sales (new) only : Made to order — unlimited availability
epee or demi-epee blade $ 278
232-S — STANDARD SWEPT HILT
Classic design. Used throughout Europe not only as a civilian rapier guard but also by soldiers in the field on their single hand broadswords. The complex steel design was meant to trap an opponent’s blade.
for sale (new) only : Made to order — unlimited availability
sales (new) – epee or demi-epee blade $ 287
102-S — BASIC SWORD

This is the common “foil” used for modern fencing. But we all know that foil blades are far too “whippy”, which makes them unsafe for stage combat. That’s why these are fitted with epee blades, the industry standard for theatrical combat. This is a great inexpensive way to cover a large stage combat class, so fill up your props cabinet! No frills but fully fight worthy. Wood handle, hexagonal steel pommel and 4″ aluminum guard.
for sales (new) only : Made to order — unlimited availability
epee or demi-epee blade sales (new) – $69

502-S — CAPTAIN MORGAN
— Made to order · available in unlimited quantity —
Believe it or not, this is similar to what the Olympians use to compete in the sabre division. It’s come a long way from the cavalry sabre, and is several pounds lighter. This guard shape has been the most popular sword we carry, providing excellent hand protection and fits a wide time period. When fitted with an epee blade this is what Tyrone Power and Basil Rathbone used in The Mark of Zorro.
for sales (new) only : Made to order — unlimited availability
epee or demi-epee blade sales (new) – $87

503-S — CAP’N STUBBY – By the way, I also have this sword set up with a six inch blade stub, ready for use in shows such as The Play That Goes Wrong. Same prices as above, since I had to sacrifice a perfectly good epee blade! sales – $87

148-S — NAVARRE
for sales (new) only : Made to order — unlimited availability
Excellent simple sword, especially when the look needs to be more warrior than duelist. No knuckle protection, and the specific profile of the guard may be slightly different than as shown.
sales – epee (new) – $132
Replacement dueling sword blades:

to buy either full epee (T25) or demi-epee (T24) – $26
Epee – the traditional standard for stage combat. Pronounced “eh-pay”, the triangular cross section and thin groove allows for stiffness, flexibility, and quick response. [Always use correct SAFD technique.] L= 35″; 6 oz. , ⅝” at the base
Demi-epee – I’ve taken the epee and reduced the size to more closely match the true smallsword blade. Excellent choice for theatres with limited space. L= 28″; 5 oz

Daggers ( for rapier & dagger fighting)
Each dagger is built with a 12″ blade by default, though we can extend them to 28″ or 35″ full-sword length — at no additional cost. All pieces are built to order, with unlimited availability.

348-S — NAVARRE DAGGER
This late Renaissance parrying dagger is a purpose-built companion piece for rapier work. It is not a medieval belt knife. At 18 inches overall, with a full 12-inch poniard blade, it carries the presence and authority of a true fencing companion — designed for the duel, the salle, and the stage.
While slender poniard blades first gained prominence as armor-piercing weapons in earlier centuries, by the 16th and early 17th centuries this form had become an active partner in civilian rapier combat. In rapier and dagger fencing, the left-hand blade was used to parry, bind, control, and counter — a defensive instrument that could instantly become offensive.
A substantial 7-inch steel guard provides serious hand protection for close engagement. The 3½-inch wooden grip offers secure handling without excess bulk, and the steel ball pommel gives proper balance and historical character to the piece. The entire dagger weighs only 14 ounces.
to buy (new):
poniard dagger – $132
342-S — GOSSAMER COMPANION DAGGER

The Navarre dagger above can cover a wide historical range, but the 342-S Gossamer Companion is a purely left-hand parrying dagger of the late Renaissance to Cavalier period (see our #230 Gossamer Swept Hilt rapier). It is designed specifically for rapier-and-dagger fencing play, though we can also build it as a full-length sword upon request.
to buy (new):
poniard dagger – $138
epee or demi-epee sword (use order #142) – $138
T03 – Replacement Dagger Blade

to buy : poniard – $26
Poniard – We simply take a standard epee blade (T25) and cut the length down to dueling dagger length. Light and thin blade makes a perfect match against the common epee or foil bladed rapiers found in most props cabinets. L= 12″ ; W= ⅝”; 4 oz
Schläger-Bladed Swords
A variety of hilts fitted with heavier, stouter blades for a more robust style of stage combat. These are very different from the above epee bladed swords. All blades are blunt and all hilts theatrical, and each listing represents a single individual weapon—once sold, it cannot be duplicated.
(Blade shortening is available at no charge, and I strongly recommend it. While 40″ blades were historically common in Shakespeare’s era, they are too tip-heavy for modern stage combat, and that slows down your fight.
A 33″ blade length aligns far better with contemporary SAFD technique.

Stage-Safe Firearms
Before you continue, I want to emphasize the cardinal rule of theatre: Don’t allow a real firearm into the building. EVER.
That includes a “borrowed” revolver from someone’s cousin. It doesn’t matter if it’s “just for waving around.” Every gun-related death that has ever occurred in rehearsal or performance, for stage or for film (and there have been many), was caused by firing a blank from a real gun or from someone sneaking in a real bullet into a real gun. Not one death from using a stage-appropriate blank-fire gun. For more information, look at this YouTube video.
The items in this section are not real guns, and never were. There is no muzzle flash, no barrel discharge, and no way to load or fire real ammunition of any kind.

G15— NEW-IN-BOX NEF STARTER PISTOLS (.22 CAL)
These are brand-new, never-used NEF .22 caliber starter pistols, still in their original factory boxes. They are not refurbished, modified, or pulled from replicas. They come from the final production run manufactured by New England Firearms.
I purchased their entire last batch of 500 pistols directly from the factory in 2007, when production was discontinued. NEF confirmed at the time that I was the final customer to whom starter pistols were sold. They were the the very last NEF .22 starter pistols ever made.

NEF pistols have long been recognized as the most reliable starter pistols available. Their simple, overbuilt construction is why I used them as the working mechanism in the majority of our blank-firing replicas. They tolerate repeated firing, rough handling, and long service lives better than anything currently on the market. Each pistol will be individually inspected and function-checked prior to shipment. Blank-firing-only. Double-action. 9 shots before reload.
Unmodified factory condition.
Only a handful available. When they’re gone, that’s it.
sales only — $309
G50 – faux LUGER

We built several of these specifically for productions of Of Mice and Men, but it makes a great blank-firing replica for many shows.
This is a stage-safe .22 caliber double-action NEF blanks-only revolver. It is dressed with a false barrel and a black resin grip and housing. 9 shots before reloading. No muzzle discharge, and impossible to load a real bullet or even a dummy round. Only one remains.
9½ by 5½ inches square. Weighs 1 lb, 13 oz.
sales only $377
G36 – SHORT BARREL REVOLVER

Just a good generic blank-firing handgun.
This stage-safe .22 caliber double-action NEF starter pistol. It is dressed with a false barrel and a black resin grip. Just like the “Luger” above, there is no muzzle discharge, and it cannot hold real or dummy rounds. Last one left.
Hammer to barrel tip = 6″. Diagonal measurement (barrel tip of end of grip) = 9″. Weighs 1 lb, 9 oz.
sales only $258
G22 – Used NEF STARTER PISTOLS

These stage-safe, double-action NEF starter pistols (.22 caliber) were recently removed from the last of our discontinued blank-firing musket replicas. To fit them inside the replica shells, each pistol was modified as follows:
* Barrel cut
* Wooden grips removed
* Pistol grip frame shortened
* Hammer shaved for clearance
The result: functional 9-shot .22 cal blank-firing units, ideal for stage use—clearly used, clearly modified. No sugar-coating here: they’re not pristine. But build a wooden grip, slip on a fake barrel, and you’ve got a stage-safe noise maker that looks surprisingly good. Only two remain. Item “K” still has the full length, untrimmed hammer. Grab one while they last.

item K – $112
item L – $90
G76 – WARNER RIFLE
– BLANK FIRING
A versatile blank-firing replica styled after early civilian rifles of the mid to late 1800s—perfect for historical productions or whenever a generic, non-military long gun is needed. Originally priced at $780, it safely fires 9 rounds of .22 caliber blanks from a built-in NEF starter pistol before needing an (offstage) reload. This was hands-down the most requested firearm replica we ever carried.
Despite the vintage look, the clean, unmarked design allows it to pass for a modern sporting rifle when needed. You can cock the hammer before firing, or simply squeeze the trigger. The barrel is fully blocked – and it is impossible to fire or even load real ammunition into the chambers. Absolutely no muzzle flash or barrel discharge. 47″ long; 22 cal blank-fire. From the hundreds we built, only this last one remains. Get it today for only $222
Blanks
Low-cost .22 and .380 blank cartridges suitable for stage-safe starter pistols. UPS Ground shipping only, per federal regulations.
THESE ARE THE LOWEST PRICED BLANKS – NATIONWIDE!

22 caliber crimped – (rim-fire). order # S22 – box of 100 blanks [I have 15 boxes left]. These CCI noise blanks are designed for starter pistols, unlike their “power loads” which must never be used in any type of firearm. These are one and a half times as loud as the “acorn” 6mm crimped blanks you may have seen, and slightly deeper in tone. about $0.11 per shot : $11.46 for a box of 100.

22 caliber Winchester blackpowder –(rim-fire). order # S33 – box of 50 blanks [I have 36 boxes left] don’t confuse this with the above crimped loads. It is three times as loud and much deeper in tone. These Winchester .22 cal black powder short blanks are in stock and ready for shipment. This is what all but the largest houses or outdoor theatres require. about $0.17 per shot. : $8.49 for a box of 50.
NOTE: Under no circumstance must you ever use “power” loads from hardware stores made for nail guns or decoy launchers in firearms of any kind. Those blanks destroy starter pistols and put the actors in grave danger of injury.
[“How about those .209 primers? They’re cheap and they fit in .22’s don’t they?” Yes, but they are center-fire, not rim-fire, so you get a whole bunch of mis-fires.]

Ugh – I found a bunch of .380 cal blanks hidden away ….
rimmed 9mm (.380) primered cartridges – The .380/9mm revolvers require larger cartridges. But larger cartridges might hold a lot of gunpowder inside, often
too much for a small theatre. These primed casings have no gunpowder in them at all! The primers are louder than those found in other blanks, so the sound produced is similar to the light 6mm “acorns”. (Because the casing holds no gunpowder, the manufacturer doesn’t need to bother with crimping the end.) Selling elsewhere – when you can find them – for $35 a box!
$5.70 for a box of 50! And yes, that’s only $0.11 each shot! 51 boxes left.
